Beef stew with white wine

Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg beef for stew - meager
  • 100 g lard
  • 500 g onions
  • 1 kg carrots
  • 500 ml white wine
  • 250 ml broth
  • 1 kg potatoes - firm when cooked
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 strands rosemary
  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 1 laurel leaf
  • 3 tbsp oil

Preparation

  • In a large casserole dish, brown the meat in the oil.
  • Add onions and carrots cut into rings, and bacon cut into strips. Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Moisten with white wine, bring to a boil.
  • Add broth, rosemary and bay leaf, salt and pepper. Cover and let cook at low temperature for 1 hour.
  • After one hour, add the cubed potatoes. Let cook for another hour.
  • At the end of the cooking time, adjust the seasoning and serve.
